Necchi 575 FA Sewing Machine 534FB

The Necchi 575 FA Sewing Machine is a GREAT sewing machine for beginners. It is sturdy, mostly metal, yet portable, has a freearm, which makes sewing armholes & hems much easier), includes an extension table, to make a larger sewing surface, with a built in attachment storage drawer in side at the back!

It comes with the basic presser feet, zigzag, zipper, button sewing, buttonhole, & embroidery foot. The Necchi stitches 18 of your most basic stitches, including a buttonhole, all in a portable, but sturdy, mostly metal sewing machine.

I made a video of it sewing samples of all of the stitches on Youtube-

Sorry, I didn't think about showing how to thread the machine, as some YouTube commentors asked, I haven't had time to make a video of that yet.

Part of what makes these Necchi sewing machines so great for beginners, is due to the fact that even if you don't have a manual, the entire machine is color coded, so you can see what settings you should use, for which stitches. To select the stitches in black, turn to the correct black number on the outside knob of the front top control knob, then use the stitch width (front top center knob), to adjust your stitch width to the size you want your stitches. For the RED stitch designs, use the RED section on the stitch length control (middle front control knob), which is the same as the buttonhole setting. For the BLUE stitches, you will find the BLUE numbers on the outside of the stitch width control, use the blue section of the inner stitch width control, & set your stitch length in the BLUE zone of the stitch length control.

Here is my video showing how to select the different stitches, with my Necchi 575FA sewing machine-

DARNING & EMBROIDERY- Necchi makes darning & embroidery easy, by including a super easy to use feed dog control on the lowest control knob on the front of your machine. You set it to sew, which looks like a line of dashes, or to darn, which looks like a graph, which lowers the feed dogs. If the feed dogs are lowered, you have to move the fabric yourself, or the stitches will pile on top of each other, but when you are trying to darn, or do freehand embroidery, usually you will place your fabric taut in an embroidery hoop, & by moving the hoop as you run the machine, you create either the darning pattern you want, or the embroidery design you want.

There is a built in handle on top of the Necchi 575 FA (as well as on the Necchi 373 FA & many other similar Necchi sewing machines), which makes it easy to carry to sewing & quilting workshops or classes, or even if you just want to move out to the porch on a sunny day, to sew!

The 534FB is a flatbed, which sews less stitches, than the 575FA, but is very similar in manufacture design, other than being a flatbed. The 534FB does have a hard "plastic" (do not know the exact material) bushing, in the bottom, on the bobbin drive shaft, which often can crack, where the screw, or pin, holds it to the shaft. Extreme temperature changes, and humidity/dry air exposure, can hasten failure of this part, but the 534FB is nevertheless, an excellent machine, if well cared for.

Here are a few similar, good Necchi models, with similar design, but different stitches, both flatbed, and freearm models.

Necchi 534FB underside, well made, but does have a hard plastic bushing,on bobbin hook driveshaft, which can crack, over time, especially if exposed to temperature extremes.

Necchi 534FB metal bobbin hook gears, should have this case packed with grease, and a cover to hold the grease in.
