Babylock Eclipse DX serger jet air threading

 Babylock Eclipse DX serger

with jet air threading
The Babylock Eclipse DX is one of the easiest serger to learn! Learning to thread the loopers correctly is usually the hardest part of learning how to use a serger. The babylock uses a jet air system so you only have to push a button to pump the thread for the loopers all of the way through their threading in just a second! So instead of spending hours threading, and rethreading because it was't right the first time, you are set up and ready to serge in a minute or less! (That includes threading both loopers and both needles!) The Eclipse DX & LX have built in needle threaders for both needles. Oh! You can thread it in ANY ORDER!
The Eclipse sews beautiful even stitches, and switching to a rolled edge stitch is done in a second, just by flipping a switch! You do not have to change out the foot or the needle plate to switch to a rolled edge like most other sergers. The Eclipse has the full featured differential feed so you can easily gather a ruffle, sew a satin stitch, lettuce hem, and you can easily adjust it to keep fabric from puckering, or stretching, making difficult to sew fabrics easy to sew perfectly!

The Eclipse can stitch anything from a slow speed to an incredibly fast 1,500 stitches per minute. Stitch widths range from 3.0mm to 7.5mm, while stitch lengths range from .75mm to 4mm. Easily portable, at only 16 lbs. (7.3kg) the Eclipse has a built-in handle as well as a built-in storage compartment under the thread stand for carrying your screwdriver, tweezers, extra needles and screws, lint brush, allen wrench and thread nets.

The Eclipse is a 4/3/2 serger, and can do a wide variety of different stitches, from a regular 4 thread overlock stitch, to a 2 or 3 thread flatlock, to 2 or 3 thread rolled edges, and you can also purchase 6 extra snap on feet for specialty applications: A) Elasticator foot, B) Blind hem foot, C) Beading foot, D) Cording foot, E) Ruffling foot-so you can make the ruffle and attach it at the same time!

You only have to turn a dial to engage or disengage the heavy duty fabric cutting system that trims excess fabric while you sew both the seam and finish the edge at the same time.

The Eclipse uses regular household sewing machine needles, so it is easy to find replacement needles.

There are different versions of the Eclipse model, so double check to make sure the features you want, are in the model you are wanting to buy. Only the DX version has an LED screen that tells you exactly how to set the machine up for each type of stitch. If you have the manual, there is no need for this expensive luxury, because it is the same information included in the manual.

To print out a free copy of the manual, or to look up more information on this serger, go to the Babylock website. Since my Babylock Eclipse was used, it did not have a manual with it, but I was able to print one out for free anyway!

Ebay is by far the best place to get a low price on a Babylock Eclipse or other expensive sewing machines. I was lucky to get mine for only $365.00!(U.S.$), they usually are over $600.

*IMPORTANT- I did discover that the Babylock Eclipse SX model does NOT have the jet air threading, but still has the tubular looper system, and is EASY to thread with a looper threading tool, and a generic needle threader. BABYLOCKS ARE THE BEST SERGERS EVER!!!
