Singer Puzzlebox Sewing Machine Attachments

This is my oak 1889 patented Singer Puzzlebox, with it's neatly organized low shank sewing machine presser feet, screwdrivers, awl, seam guide, quilting foot and guide, long bobbins, for both the Singer 127 Vibrating Shuttle (long bobbins) full size machine, as well as the 128 VS (3/4 size machine, meant to be portable, but being cast iron, not portable for many of us!)

A ruffler, shirring plate, underbraider, tucker, binder, and multiple sizes of rolled hemmer folders, as well as a braiding foot, are all neatly organized, for quick and easy accessibility! These magical treasure boxes open from a gorgeous tongue and groove finished, rectangular oak box, to unroll, and lie completely flat, showing every tool, in it's own perfect place.

15 STYLES of Singer Puzzleboxes

Singer made at least 15 styles pf puzzlebox accessory sets, with the specific types of shuttles or bobbins, as well as the corresponding underbraider and shirring plates, for these early Singer sewing machines. I don't think I have photos of all of them, but am sharing copies of the books, manuals, & flyers which do have this original information from Singer. I've noticed that the pamphlets & flyers vary, apparently there is a box number, as well as a style number, and some are for more than one type of sewing machine model.

Singer 24 chainstitch sewing machine Oak Puzzlebox style Class 24

Style No. 11 for Singer class 15 sewing machines, often sold as being for Featherweight 221, & 222k, but the bobbins for those are larger than the class 15 bobbins originally in this case.
Many people choose to adapt an oak Singer Puzzlebox to carry a set of accessories for the Singer Featherweight 221 and 222k, or any of the other low shank, straight stitch Singer sewing machines. You can do a search online for "Singer Puzzlebox photos", and will see a wide variety of photos of the puzzleboxes themselves, as well as the manuals that originally came with them, showing where each accessory or foot attaches to the case.
