Japan's sewing machines eventually surpassed the U.S.A. manufactured sewing machines, in quality, while keeping prices lower, undercutting their competitor's prices, and literally driving sewing machine manufacturing out of the United States, for the most part. (Yes, Merrow, an incredible industrial sewing machine manufacturer, is still based in the United States, but the home sewing machine manufacturers no longer make their sewing machines in the U.S., for the most part, even though some headquarters are still located in the U.S.A..)

| High shank presser feet include rufler, rolled hemmers in a few sizes, an adjustable zipper/cording foot, and a straight stitch foot, as well as a button sewing foot, seam guide, quilting guide, and bobbins. The black ring is a plastic decorative piece, which goes on the dial on the front of the machine. This is one of the few plastic parts, which eventually dry and shrink, over time, so it broke. A clear plastic piece covered the front of the dials, the plastic rings held it in place. Once the plastic ring falls off, the clear piece usually does, too. This does NOT affect any function of the machine, in any way. I am keeping the plastic ring with the machine, in case a future buyer wants it. |

| Bobbin hook, if there are nicks or burrs on the sharp pointed section, your thread will snag on it, sometimes breaking the thread, but also causing skipped stitches, or preventing stitch formation. It often mimics tension issues, simply because it pulls on the thread, preventing it from moving fast enough, to create each stitch. Polish with crocus cloth, if this is a problem. Make sure point of hook stays sharp, do NOT polish it smooth at the tip. |
