Needle Threaders Needle Insertion Tools & Sewing Helps

Needle threaders and needle insertion tools can make sewing so much easier and FASTER! Especially as we age, and our eyes can no longer see that tiny needle hole, and the thread, well enough to quickly thread our sewing machine needle, these tools are sometimes the only reason some of us are still able to sew, after the age of 45!

Tools and Notions for Sergers & sewing machines- needle nose pliers, looper and needle threaders, tweezers and reverse tweezers, small flathead screwdrivers of various sizes, a tiny hexagon screwdriver for serger needle replacement, and a couple of other sizes of hexagonal wrench tools in various sizes. The top three items are needle insertion tools, and cleaning brushes, and a needle insertion tool and needle threader
Top is a looper threader for industrial sergers, and home sergers, then a dental flossing tool for those with braces, works perfectly for threading loopers, and needles with a larger eye.  The next is a tiny latch hook for turning spaghetti straps or bias binding ties, the wire coiled in a circle, is the wire looper threader for the BabyLock Eclipse, Imagine, Enlighten, Evolve, Evolution, Ovation, and similar air threading looper systems on sergers. The threader that looks like a dime, is for both hand sewing needles, and for using with sewing machines, and is usually your best bet for threading super fine needles, from size 8 to 11, because the eye of these needles is often too tiny to allow any of the sewing machine needle threader hooks to go easily through them, without causing any damage or getting stuck.

The hooks on needle threaders are often so tiny they are almost invisible, so I tried to put the hooks through needles, with thread to help illustrate how these wonderful inventions work!

Needle threaders for hand sewing on left, the white one in my hand is for a serger or sewing machine, and has a needle insertion tool at the other end. The needle threader end is spring loaded, you lay thread across this opening in the middle, push it against the needle that is already in the sewing machine, and slide it down the front channel of the needle, until it gets to the needle eye, and then gently press the needle threader so that it pushes the thread through the eye of the needle. (Some needles have too small of an eye for this threader) This ones on the right side of this photo are for various sewing machines, according to whether the needle is threaded from the side, or the front. The wire hooks are so incredibly tiny, they do wear out, so replacerments sometimes came with the needle threader, especially when they came with a sewing machine. The tiny bag has 2 replacement needle threader hooks for the needle threader above it.
Needle insertion tools usually have either a cleaning brush, or a needle threader at the other end of the handle. There is a tiny hole for you to fit the needle through, so you can hold the tool by the handle, instead of trying to fiddle with the sharp needle, while you use your other hand to loosen or tighten the screw that keeps the needle in the machine. Some needle insertion tools allow the needle to fit halfway through the needle hole, others just hold the needle by the tip.
