After putting the machine back down, tighten the thumbscrew, and it locks the machine back into the sewing position.

White manufactured the Queen badged fiddlebase treadle sewing machine, apparently it is their only full sized White manufactured fiddlebase machine, and only some of them got the brand "White" molded into the machine, as part of the labels.

"Stockman" is another name badge found on these very rare White manufactured Vibrating Shuttle treadle sewing machines.

(Found on Facebook - contact Katie farmer- Wendy Zick"My first treadle was a Queen!  She has more wear on decals than yours.  Katie Farmer is doing a research project of White machines and is collecting data on the Queen.  Contact her with your serial number and any dates that appear on your documentation.  She will be glad for any information you have.  kf82479@aol.com is her email.
My machine is number 31 on her registry.  The Queen was only made until 1920.
How exciting!  Thank you for sharing!")

WINDING VIBRATING SHUTTLE BOBBIN ON QUEEN BY WHITE
I couldn't figure out how to thread the Vibrating Shuttle on this Queen treadle, until I saw this video on YouTube- (it does NOT thread the same as the Singer Vibrating Shuttles.)

THREADING QUEEN VIBRATING SHUTTLE

To install shuttle, insert long shuttle (bobbin) with the thread coming around the back to the front, on the right, push it up inside the shuttle case, pull the thread up the slit, and to the end of the spring clip. Wind it over the top of the spring clip, just below the tiny screw, and then, holding the thread taut, tuck it under the backwards D shaped tension spring on the left side of the photo, so your thread leaves a tail hanging below the tension spring that it is tucked under. Insert shuttle case into the shuttle carrier, with the FLAT side to the left, and the point of the shuttle to the front of the machine.
Queen Vibrating Shuttle by White (bobbin is long, curved round ends, the long pointed shuttle case with a post in the center, that the bobbin, or shuttle slides onto. Note the shuttles have curved ends, like mushroom tops, and each has a hole for the thread to help it get started, for winding, you thread from inside to the outside, and leave a couple of inches of thread sticking out the end, when you install the shuttle into the "bobbin winder" or "shuttle winder".

T
he Vibrating shuttle case does look like the patent for the double spring tension that is shown on Needlebar.org,
White 2 spring Vibrating Shuttle Patent

I unscrewed the Vibrating Shuttle case to clean out lint, and to illustrate more clearly what the thread is doing when you pull it up the slit, it stops in the hole at the top, then you wrap the tail of thread up, around the tip of the tension spring, just below where the tiny screw holds it against the shuttle, and then, holding the thread taut, slide it under the flat backwards D shaped flat spring, you can see more clearly in this photo. Then allow a few inches of thread to hang below the end of the tension spring. Now install bobbin or shuttle into shuttle carrier, with the flat side of the shuttle case to the left, and the point of the shuttle pointing forwards to the front of the machine (towards you, if you are sitting to sew).
Queen Vibrating Shuttle, disassembled shuttle case, to show details. Note the long tiny screw has a slice from the bottom of the screw to right up under the screw cap. There is a gap in this space. This is the screw which holds the shuttle tension spring in place, which holds the tension on the shuttle thread. I disassembled it to clean it. Notice the threading slot in the shuttle case body, is on the lower section of the shuttle, which is opposite of the Singer 27 and 127 Vibrating Shuttle cases. This Queen shuttle, you slide the thread to the right in this shuttle slot, then under the right end of the spring clip, wrap the thread up around the right end of the flat tension spring, just to the left of the screw, then pull thread up, and over, to the left, and slide it under the curved spring clip, then let it dangle.

Clutch release for the Queen Vibrating Shuttle Treadle sewing machine, is a unique system I've only seen on White sewing machines, so far, it is a lever in the handwheel! This flat lever is flipped out to the left in my photo, but when you are sitting at the machine, it would flip out to the right, to release the clutch, so the needle won't move while winding a bobbin.

To engage the clutch, so the needle moves with the handwheel, push the lever back into the handwheel. This is SEWING position.
Queen Vibrating Shuttle with shuttle cover open, and shuttle inserted, with the FLAT side of the shuttle case to the left, and the pointed end pointing towards you, as you sit at the front of the sewing machine. Be aware the shuttle carrier does not GRAB the shuttle, it simply allows it to sit against the curved shuttle pathway, and literally the point of the shuttle goes OVER the needle thread, and the takeup lever pulls the upper thread tight, for each stitch. Note early tension unit.

Presser foot up, the presser foot bar pushes up through the top of the knurled screw nut thatcontrols presser foot pressure.
Presser foot down, notice the top of the presser foot rod is now down. My hand is to help highlight the fact that this moves up and down through the top of the machine.

Queen Vibrating Shuttle treadle sewing machine comes with a metal pan to catch lint and oil drips, protect the clothes of the person sewing and includes a prop to hold the machine in this position for cleaning and oiling, it is on the right just below the machine bed, it looks like a pin coming out of the right side of the metal pan, the slide mechanism goes up to the bed of the machine.

White supposedly manufactured this Queen Vibrating Shuttle treadle sewing machine, but apparently, they did not put the White label or imprint anywhere on some models, only on later models.

A little information about White is available here-

The #1 and the arrow to the right, are the only marks I can find to identify on this Queen treadle sewing machine, other than the back shuttle cover which has the number 76470 engraved in it.
Queen Vibrating Shuttle treadle Sewing Machine full sized fiddle base by White only has a number 1 and an arrow pointing right, molded into the underside of the machine bed, and this number 76460 engraved in it. They are the only identifying marks I was able to discover, so far, in this Queen treadle sewing machine
