Threading a class 15 Sewing Machine Top Thread

 

Threading a class 15 Sewing Machine upper thread. Raise presser foot.





1. Place spool of thread on spoolpin, 2. Thread upper faceplate thread guide 3. Thread between tension plates, under tension unit, 4. Up into tension check spring (I called it a tension takeup spring in the video, lol) 5. Behind thread guide next to tension, 6.Takeup lever 7.thread through lower faceplate thread guide 8. Thread guide above needle, 9. Thread needle left to right. (If your machine is a vintage Singer 115 rotary, it will thread right to left)

If your sewing machine doesn't have the L shaped thread guide near the tension checkspring, it may be more like the BLACK SINGER 15 below, photos show the orange thread better, and the thread guides, in the photos below the video.
