Gimbels badged sewing machine like Brother Galaxy
Gimbels is one of MANY name badges used on vintage sewing machines, made by other manufacturers. This wonderful Gimbels sewing machine is nearly identical, to Brother Galaxy 221, and a number of other sewing machines, which came from the same factory, but have different badge names on them. Usually, the name badge was named after the store which contracted to buy the machines, or was a name designated as the store's official appliance brand, similar to the way Kenmore was the Sears badge for sewing machines.
I can't set it up for photos, at the moment, the Gimbel's machine is in a table with my giant quilt size cutting mat set up on top of it, so I snuck a few awkward photos, with my cell phone, will add more, later.
This machine has built in stitch cams, and appears to have all metal workings, with the possible exception of the camstack, themselves, which could possibly be a form of plastic.
