Top clamping Presser Feet Sewing Machine Information

Top clamping presser feet for vintage and antique sewing machines, come in several different configurations, which can be very confusing as people attempt to find the correct feet for these very early sewing machines with names like Domestic, National, White, Kenmore (very early models, not Soryu 148, or Maruzen / Jaguar 158, or Janome 358), so I'm sharing charts I have of these models, to help others identify which ones fit their machines.

Typically, top clamping feet seem to be common on rotary models, where the bobbin hook makes a continuous rotary circle, basically creating a spiral of the bobbin thread, around the upper thread, to create a lockstitch.

Another very common detail, is these also seem to mainly be models which use a friction pulley, to run the machine, instead of a belt. They are typically early electric models.

The presser feet often come in metal tins, saying rotary, or accessories, including everything from rolled hemmers, to tucker/tuck markers, binders, rufflers, quilting and shirring feet, and a seam guide.

There are zigzaggers and "decorators", a zigzagger with built in cams, which are also available for these models, Kenmore and White are the brands usually on the decorator. Be sure the top clamping setup is the correct size for your machine.
