Fake Singer Featherweight 221 Reproduction Sewing Machines
Most of us would jump on buying anything that looks like Singer Featherweight 221, but no, clones (these ard not actually 100% the same, so are not technically clones, but in the Vintage Sewing Machine world, machines which look so close to an original product, like the post World War 2 Singer class 15 clones, that I feel it is an appropriate description, since online sale photos of these Mini's, are close enough to fool less educated buyers) or imitation reproduction Singer Featherweight 221 sewing machines are not anywhere near as valuable, or as high of quality, as a Singer Featherweight. They are not near the same quality, and have a reputation for poor function.
There are several known Singer Featherweight 221 copycats, which all have reputations for poor quality, and sewing issues. The copycat reproductions do not have the same hook and bobbin system as Singer Featherweight 221 models.
There are Mal's Mini Classic, Little Giant Classic, Alpha Sew Classic, and I don't recall the exact name, I want to say another one was Quilter Classic Mini, or something like that.
They appear to be "badged" clones, basically made to look alike, but with some variations and lots pf them were sold by contract, to anyone who contracted for a batch of them, slap their own badge logo on them, and the paperwork, and voila! Hence, the reason they are less common, harder to find, because we don't know what they are all called.
