Video - how 1430 camstack and stitch selector mechanisms work and how they should move, when functioning properly. Seeing what moves, and how, can help you know where to clean with rubbing alcohol, applies with a Qtip, toothbrush, or paintbrush, or injector, then oil those areas with sewing machine oil, or Tri Flow oil.
1430 does have a type of camstack unit which makes it a bigger problem to access all areas for cleaning, if it has frozen up.
I did have to part out one 1430 due to corrosion damage, one of the few Kenmores we were not able to fix completely.
