Needle comes unthreaded without being cut!

 Magic rope trick!

Seriously, sergers and sewing machines sometimes have one of the needles come unthreaded, while sewing, or serging, and it seems to defy the laws of physics!

Thread develops static electricity, especially when sewing fast. The friction of pulling thread through fabric, can make the static electricity worse, as can heat, or air conditioning, or just dry air.

Static electricity and loose filaments, basically fuzzy thread, can be more prone to magically coming unthreaded. The loose filaments can be attracted to other areas of thread, getting dragged through the eye of the needle, creating loops, which are how it magically unthreads!

Needle and thread conditioner is a liquid silicone, and while it is called silicone oil, in many manuals, it is NOT the kind of oil used to lubricate machines, it is used to lubŕicate threadd, especially needle threads, industrial machines often have a thread lubricant container attached to, or built in tank, which has a wick, the lubricant is applied to, and needle threads usually feed across the wick, helping prevent skipped stitches.
